How It Works 

Firstly, PMviz allows a structure framework to be created that truely reflects the governance structure of your programme/portfolio, whether that be matrix, hierarchical, or a combination of the two.

Secondly, it allows this structure to be populated with the project management data common to all programmes, e.g. milestones, issues, risks, dependencies, actions, etc.  This data can be used to manage the components of the programme/portfolio on a day-to-day basis by all the participants and stakeholders.

Thirdly, it allows the project management data to be pulled into status reports, for whatever level of reporting is required.  For example, status can be reported at the lowest level, and this report data can then be used to produce a report at the next level up in the hierarchy.

Finally, project management data is tagged with its 'management significance', to ensure it receives the correct level of visibility and control in the governance hierarchy.  Data is filtered for higher level status reports to ensure its relevance to the intended audience, for example to allow escalation of major issues to the Programme Board, or to ensure key milestones are only changed with Release Team approval.
