Resource Management

One of the many challenges of running large programmes or portfolios is ensuring sufficient and appropropriate resources are available when required.  PMviz provides a simple solution that allows you to identify where your critical resources are being overloaded, or where there are insufficient resources to meet project demand.

PMviz allows each workpackage to specify the number of roles required to deliver their objectives, and when they are needed. Specific users can then be allocated to fulfil these roles.  The system will highlight where users have been over-allocated in a particular week, and highlight where roles have yet to be fulfilled.

This simple but effective technique avoids the challenges associated with consolidating 'resource-levelled' project plans.  It can be used for both strategic level planning (e.g. at 'role' level only) and tactical level planning (e.g. for specific individuals).
